An interesting contrast to the FW37 and W08 (spied at Silverstone). Both of those, and probably most of the field, try and get as much air beneath the nose as possible, but it looks like McLaren's going for a snowplow sort of setup here. I think they ran something similar in 2011 and it worked. The big story is the power unit though. Such tight packaging on this car! Almost looks like a Newey design. The sidepods suggest that Honda has a much different cooling solution than Mercedes because they're so much smaller than the W07 and W08's, as well as the MP4-29's. I'm guessing that the Honda powerplant will be pretty unreliable in testing, but this chassis is promising.

I have high hopes for honda and Fernando alonso. Lets see how the winter tests go.
